Last night Navratri started. It is still going strong tonight, if not stronger! It seems much louder tonight.
I went to my friend’s roof top terrace, and observed the festivities below. They were just getting started. This is just one apartment complex’s celebration…they are going on everywhere.
They started with a song where they were all invited to the field and asking the god to indwell the idol. This what they are doing in the pictures, and there was lots of clapping and loud music. You can see the table to the left with the idol.
They also had what looked like bowls with lots of candles on them and they were waving them around in circular motions, and each person had a turn to do that.
