Scott’s Last Day

Wednesday was Scott’s last day here in India.  He has to go back to the States to work and take care of our other kiddos…with some help from his Mom and our church friends.
I am just trying to spend as much time with him as I possibly can, and he and Lyla also need some time together.
We spent most of the morning strategically packing his suitcases, and carry ons so we would not get any extra fees.  On the domestic flights here, you can only have up to 33 pounds or 15 Kg and one checked bag,  That is really hard when you have taken an International flight to get here, in which you stay for a long time….and when you shop for extra goodies.
Today for lunch we got together with some other friends that live here in Ahmedabad, that know Brian and Mica.  The lunch was also a surprise birthday party for one their friends, Rebecca.  It was great to meet some new people and to here about the work they are doing here in India. During this time we prayed together and studied truth together.  We even sang together… One of the college age girls, was totally introducing us to some newer praise music.  One of my favorites was You are My Vision by Rend.

Lyla just makes herself at home.  She is always a little shy at first, and then she just goes for it.  As
Dr. Gopi said about her in Hyderabad… “She is the people’s girl.”

Happy Birthday!  One funny thing that happened… they had sat the cake on top of the washer, and during the spin cycle it took a tumble.  It wasn’t as pretty, but we all still ate it!  ðŸ™‚

After the party we headed back home.  We shared a delicious meal by Mica… the girl can flat out cook!
Then it was time to say good bye to Daddy for the next couple of weeks.

We love and miss you Daddy!  Ready to be back with you and the whole crew!  One thing I will not miss about Scott… is riding these old rickety elevators in India with him. We actually have to shut the doors of the elevators, and they are very small…not like the ones at home.  Anyways, he jumps up and down and shakes them, and scares everyone riding.  Nope, won’t miss it!  ðŸ™‚
Now we are just praying we do get that passport on Monday, and that the Government shutdown in the U.S. does not affect us when we get our Visa.  Please pray!
Also, we heard from Baby Shlok’s father last night.  He said “I praise the almighty for the positive trend in Shlok’s health.”  They believe he will be getting off the ventilator this week and the swelling in his heart has gone down.  Please continue to pray for him and for his parents.  I know God can heal this child completely!
Also after my post yesterday about the orphanage tour, I had a friend contact me with interest in the boy that is Thalassemic.  I am praying God is raising up someone for this boy!
