Hope

Psalm 147: 1 Praise the LORD. How good it is to sing praises to our God, how pleasant and fitting to praise him! 2 The LORD builds up Jerusalem; he gathers the exiles of Israel. 3 He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. 4 He determines the number of the stars and calls them each by name. 5 Great is our Lord and mighty in power; his understanding has no limit. 6 The LORD sustains the humble but casts the wicked to the ground. 7 Sing to the LORD with thanksgiving; make music to our God on the harp. 8 He covers the sky with clouds; he supplies the earth with rain and makes grass grow on the hills. 9 He provides food for the cattle and for the young ravens when they call. 10 His pleasure is not in the strength of the horse, nor his delight in the legs of a man; 11 the LORD delights in those who fear him, who put their hope in his unfailing love.

I was looking for scriptures about hope this morning and I love verse 11 at the end… but I love it even more in its context. How foolish would I be to not put my hope in the Lord in all circumstances when He is The Builder, The Rescuer, The Healer, The Creator, The Almighty, The Sustainer, The Righteous Judge, The Supplier, The Provider… and My Delight!

We were actually given a small glimpse of hope this week via a telephone call with our agent. She was a little reluctant to give us this hope, because still there are no guarantees. She says her contact at CARA has stated that they have a lot of confidence that our case is going to be resolved and resolved in our favor in the near future. This person is waiting for the right moment to get our case through. Which is awesome to hear of course… BUT, she quickly reminded us that we have to stay grounded and continue to pray, because nothing is final until they grant us that NOC. They still could deny us our little girl and insist we pick another child…They could still take a lot of time to make the decision…. so nothing is final, but it was good to hear something positive!

I know you are still praying with us, and for that we are so very grateful! These scriptures in Psalm 147 have really helped me today. To be reminded of how very powerful our God is yet he knows our daughter, and our plight to get her…. and we can have hope that He is in control.

If you could pray specifically for the contact at CARA that my agent mentions to us. I don’t have a name… but please pray that God will work out “the right timing” for he or she to pass our case through.
