More changes have come to the surgery situation…
Months ago, when we connected with Babyheart we had to do several things to coordinate her surgery with Babyheart and the orphanage.
Now that we have finally worked out the surgery, the orphanage is now saying they don’t think they can fly her to the city to get her surgery.
Now months ago, we agreed (altogether mind you) that we would pay for the flights, hotel, and accommodations of the caretakers during her surgery. And, they agreed.
Now they have backed out of taking her…
Thankfully Scott and I have been to India many times and know this is just how things operate in India. Things never go as planned.
But it just stinks… because now we have to come up with some other plans.
The orphanage asked if we could locate a surgeon in their town. This may be an option… but it may not work with Babyheart who we really trust on picking the right doctors, etc. And Babyheart is helping with the funding of the surgery… so we can’t not do what they suggest as well.
Another option our agency has suggested is that once we adopt her in India, that we just take her for her surgery in India.
The second option is actually what we originally thought was going to happen. We had planned to do this in the first place. The only catch with this option is it may require us to be in India for up to 5 weeks. Which requires a lot of timing and planning, especially since we have three other kiddos.
We know a lot of you are praying for us… please continue to do so. We need wisdom on what the next steps are.
