Here she is…

Glorify the LORD with me; let us exalt his name together.  Psalm 34:3
Meet our daughter
So here is our next little blessing!  I really think she looks like a Parkison!
Just in case you have not read the previous posts… she was born with a large hole in her heart, and will require a pretty major surgery to be completely healthy.  When we first learned of her, we were not concerned about her needing surgery or the fact that she had a heart defect.  But, Scott being the person he is… covering all of his bases… he called our insurance company, and this is when we learned that if we adopted her they would raise our premium to $2000 a month.  YIKES!!!

Well, through a lot of prayer, a lot of phone calls, a lot of ranting (on my part!) God has blessed us in an unbelievable way!!!  I don’t know why we are even shocked by His blessing… because through out this whole process He has taken care of the whole adoption process and even provided $30,000.00 for the adoption!!!

There is an organization called babyheart.org and they perform heart surgeries on children all over the world, but specifically in third world countries were the medical needs are so severe.  This organization is providing the surgery to repair her heart completely free!!!  That’s right… free!  They will be doing the surgery in Chennai, India this October and they say she should be well enough to come home a month later… on her way to complete recovery and becoming completely healthy!!!  And her insurance will be fine then!

So we have officially accepted the referral of this sweet one to become our child, and we could not be more excited!  She will be just a little younger than Levi, but I find a lot of comfort in the fact that she and Levi will more than likely be in the same grade, play on the same ball teams… and they can be there for each other!

This email is already getting too long, but I can’t end it with out telling you some of how God took care of this whole surgery situation…

We discovered Baby Heart through our very brand new youth minister at church.  His wife read my blog post and before they even moved here, she contacted a cardiologist in their church in Knoxville.  She knew that he had performed several heart surgeries on children in Haiti.  She told him about us, and he immediately referred us to this organization that he is affiliated with… Baby Heart.  Not only did he refer us… but he has pretty much communicated with us everyday the last few weeks.  And, has gotten us this surgery in October for free.  Let me just remind you that he does not know us at all and we have never met him.  He is just a believer in Christ and said he felt led to help us, but even more importantly… he wants to help our daughter.  She is always his first concern.  And he has also seen all of her medical records and feels very confident that her heart is very repairable.  He has even sent us some videos of children that have the same defect she does, and how healthy they are afterwards.  So the timing of us hiring a youth minister that knew a Christian cardiologist that was in the business of helping needy children… totally God’s timing.  He actually called us today and introduced us via telephone to the surgeon that will be performing her surgery.  He has already done 300 surgeries this year… so we feel confident he knows what he is doing!

Then through this whole process we have also learned a lot about insurance and found a great company that will cover her for practically nothing!!!  Another God thing!

The surgery is free… God provides!

We know missionaries in the town where she lives now (adoption will be completed there), and we have a dear friend that lives in Chennai… so if we are there for her and surgery we have free place to stay!

As you can see… we can not stop praising God enough for all of his provision and blessing on our family!

We don’t know exactly when we will be getting her… in the adoption world they call it the “Gotcha Day”.  We would absolutely love to bring her home after she recovers from her surgery.  But there are lots of factors beyond our control that determine that date.  It may be as late as next January before we can get her.
So pray that by some miracle we can get her this Fall.  Now that we know she is ours… it is hard to wait.
She may be the one with the physical hole in her heart, but we have one in ours with out her here!

Ok, as you can see we are excited and anxious to get her home!  Praise the Lord with us for this precious baby!  ðŸ™‚
