This is a poster of a movie based off of a Christian Fiction by Karen Kingsbury.
I heard the movie was about adoption, so I thought I would give it a shot.
Needless to say… I wept the entire time pretty much from the first 10 minutes in until the end.
But, this movie got me thinking about my adopted daughters birth mom. I know nothing about her at this point, and don’t know that I ever will.
But the birth mom in the movie said this one line in the end that really struck me.
As she spoke to the adopting mom… she said, “Will you do one thing for me? Please tell my son he has two moms. One that loved him so much she could not give him up, and the other that loved him so much she had to.”
I thought it was powerful.
But it made me think about my daughter’s birth mom and the possible pain she has gone through to give up her daughter. I prayed for her. I prayed she would know Jesus, and that she will know her daughter will be in a great home.
I also want her to know that her daughter will know the sacrifice she paid to relinquish her daughter and her daughter will know that she has two moms…
One that loves her so much that she has to have her and can’t live with out her
and the other
that loved her so much to give her to me!
That is very powerful. I think a lot of people think it is easy for birth moms to choose adoption. It is actually a very difficult decision that involves a lot of thought and consideration. We pray for Beck's birth mom every day and we talk to him about her constantly. We pray for her to have peace about her decision. And he will always know that he has 2 moms who love him very much. Thanks for sharing this!
This made me cry. Your heart is so beautiful, Kelly. I can't wait to "meet" your daughter 🙂
