We absolutely love our pediatrician, Dr. Rosser at MMC. He is great with our kids, and patient with our million parental questions! He is also adopting, so he can relate to a lot we will be going through there…when our other daughter arrives.
Apparently he also was on an episode of House Hunters on HGTV with his family. 🙂 So he is “famous.”
But even more importantly, He has a heart for the Lord which means the most to our family!
Katy Pierce had a great one week check. She surprisingly gained 10 oz. Most babies lose weight on their first well check ( I know the boys did) but not my little eater! She eats like her Momma! Or as I like to tell everyone… We are Baptist, so of course she likes to eat!
She had also grown a half inch length wise bringing her to a total of 20 inches. Even though she has grown in weight and height, she still seems so tiny and dainty. I have been telling everyone she already seems so girly. Her little cry is so much more dainty and softer than the boys.
The doctor said everything else looks great too! We feel blessed to have a healthy baby girl!
At home, (now she is currently a little over two weeks old) she still eats and sleeps a lot. She wakes up with eyes wide open about two times a day for a period of 45 minutes to an hour. She just looks around. She really likes it when I vacuum. I thought she may feel a little restless when I pulled it out… but she just laid there calmly and stared. I read somewhere a while back ago babies like vacuuming. I guess that author was right.
Everyone wants to know who she looks like… I see flashes of the boys in her, which would lead me to say she is going to look like Scott. But, when I pulled my baby pics out… we look a lot alike. So, maybe she will be a good mix??? Who knows!?!
Her eyes are still this beautiful grey color, but I know babies eye color changes in time. I am curious what color they will be.
She does great at bath time, but does not like to be cold when she gets out. It is a mad dash to get her dressed, so she won’t cry. 🙂
She wakes up about every 3 hours to eat, but every now and then she will give us a four hour stretch.
Her brothers love her and seem to really care for her. Levi has told me once that he did not like her… but a couple of hours later he said “Mom, I really do like her.” 🙂 I think he is still adjusting.
It has been an awesome two weeks. At night when all three kids are cuddled with me on the couch, I look around and think could my life get any better? Then I remember we have one more on the way too. Blessed! Blessed! Blessed is all I have to say.
