My beautiful grandmother, Nana. Nana has dementia and she says some pretty funny things. That’s how my family copes with it…we just laugh. However, there are times when she is totally with it. I can tell she is frustrated with her mind, but she is still as sweet as ever.
When she first got to my house, she was real disoriented. I was explaining to her we lived in the parsonage and how the church had worked so hard to make it nice for us, etc. Once we got in the house, she kept saying…do the owners of this house just let you come in anytime you want? The people who love here don’t mind you being in here?
She told me, my Mom needed a spanking. 🙂
She said that she has been in jail for 43 years. I asked her how she liked it. She said it was hard, but the food was good. 🙂
And most of you know Scott is a preacher…anyways, we are headed out the door for our church supper and my grandmother asked my Mom…”Have you met the preacher and his wife at this church?”
She came to a ladies bible study with me. Afterwards she told me she enjoyed the class, but that my friends and I need professional help. (There actually may be some truth in that!) haha
