Since several of you blog readers have emailed, facebooked, and asked how my new healthy lifestyle is going, I thought I would let you know… plus it keeps me accountable.
I think the last time I posted that I had lost 29 pounds. I had jumped started my weight loss at the beginning of the year with HCG Drops for the entire month of January.
Since the beginning of February I have been making better food choices (allowing myself to still occasionally eat some of my most favorite things!) and regularly exercising.
Well, immediately coming off the drops, at the end of January, I gained 8 pounds (Even though I was eating well…and I allowed myself three cheat days before starting my work out routines.) I knew this would happen, because the diet was so drastic…so I wasn’t too discouraged.
In early February, my church started Fit For Jesus. It is kind of like the Biggest Loser. We weigh in every week, pay money when we gain weight, etc. But my favorite part is the accountability and encouragement we give one another. We also got these cool t-shirts. Some of us were joking last week that when all of the participants weight loss is counted together…we lost a 5th grader! 🙂 But seriously some of the participants are less susceptible to Diabetes now and high cholesterol. I am so proud of everyone that is working so hard!
Through the input of a friend at church, I also decided to join myfitnesspal.com. This is a free site that lets you plug in your weight goals, food you eat, exercise…and it tells you how many calories you consumed, how many your burned in exercise, and my favorite thing is that it tells you about how much you will weigh in 5 weeks…. which is big motivator for me personally. I seriously pull up this site a few times a day to check calories in recipes…to see if I can have a piece of chocolate that day…. I love this site. It has been a big help for me!
Exercise wise…I have started taking tons of classes at the Rec Center. I take Spin, Zumba, Boot Camp, and Butts and Guts. In addition to classes, I have been running several times a week, because I signed myself up for a half marathon at the end of April.
Yesterday I ran 8 miles… something I have never done in my whole life!
And, here it is….. drum roll….wait for it…wait for it…
I have lost 40 pounds!!!
That sounds so crazy… but I have been working very hard to develop of new healthy mindset and plan to continue this mindset once I reach my goals.
And according to myfitnesspal.com…I will reach my final goal in about 6 weeks!!!
I will keep you updated on how it goes!
Until next time… here’s to looser fitting clothes and yummy salads (which I totally crave now!)
Keep praying for me!
