Screening for Pre-School

My big boy is now old enough to start school! Yikes… where has the time gone?
We went last Saturday for Seth to get screened.
Our city and county schools here in Coffee County have 4-k programs. However, only a certain amount of students are accepted every year and there are state guidelines that the school districts have to follow.
I am really hoping Seth can get in! I have literally been praying about it since I arrived in August and found out about the programs.
Seth is a pretty smart guy, if I do say so myself… but I think he could really benefit from some group structure and a teacher who knows what she is doing! Seth and I have been doing a little preschool curriculum at home together, but I know he would benefit greatly in this class. Plus, the teacher in the school we are zoned for goes to our church, and she has won some extensive awards for her teaching. I have also heard through grapevine that she has been recognized nationally for her teaching.
In addition, many of you know that I have learning disabilities. Learning disabilities are often genetic. Seth is a little young to be diagnosed… and he may not have any. But I worry for him, and know a 4-K program would help him with early intervention and get a jump start on anything in which he may need more time to learn.
The screened everything from his speech and language skills, to hearing and vision, motor skills, and cognitive skills.
They said we would not know anything until June… phew that’s hard for me to wait that long. I am such a planner.
But, I am reminded often in scripture to “Be still.” So, I will wait and trust in Him!
