Manchester Mondays: The School System

The School System
and more importantly football 🙂
I hope I explain all of this correctly…
The city we live and serve in is called Manchester, and we are in Coffee County. There is also a neighboring city called Tullahoma and they are also in our county. In our school systems we have city schools and county schools.
There are Manchester City and Coffee County elementary schools and middle schools that feed into Coffee County Central High School (which is almost next door to the church) and there are Tullahoma City schools that feed into Tullahoma High School.
Needless to say these high schools are pretty large! And, they are huge rivals.
An article on the Coffee County Red raider website mentioned… “Eighty-two times the battle for supremacy in Coffee County has been decided by teenagers on a football field.”

As you can see this rival football game is serious business! They are after the coveted trophy… The Coffee Pot.

We missed this year’s Rival Game, but we will be sure to make it in the future! However, this past Friday we did get to attend Homecoming for Coffee County Central High School. Two of our youth girls were in the Senior Court.

Homecoming is a little different here… or so I have heard. The only thing I noticed that was different was the girls were in pageant dresses vs. cocktail or nice dresses. In my day, we wore church dresses or nice trendy suits.

It was fun to be at a high school football game again. It has been a while! Too bad the Red Raiders didn’t win…

But the only win that counts is the Coffee Pot!
