Nights at the ER that is…
Saturday night, Seth stood up in the tub; slipped; and busted his chin on the side of the tub.
To make matters worse, I had just told him to sit down or he might get hurt. I turned to get a towel and then I heard the boom.
Seth cried for about 5 minutes. It did not bleed at first, so I didn’t think anything was wrong. I started in on a lecture about this is why you fell…you disobeyed me… and then it began to gush and I saw the huge gash under his chin.
I could tell immediately it needed stitches. We headed to Wake med North and the waiting room looked packed, but they got us back to a room fast and Seth was loving all the attention and watching cartoons and being up past his bed time!
After the stitches…which he did very well with I might add. They numbed his chin with a cream and then gave him shots. I think the hardest part was the had to bind him, so he couldn’t move. He was more upset about that than anything. He kept saying “Mommy get me outta here” But he was brave and got his 5 stitches.
And he loved getting a Popsicle! I was really pleased with our experience at Wake med North and told the doctor I am sure this will be first of many trips to the ER. Considering I have two dare devils at home!
