“A lot of people run a race to see who is fastest. I run to see who has the most guts, who can punish himself into exhausting pace, and then at the end, punish himself even more.”
Athlete, Steve Prefontaine
As I started out this year setting healthy goals for weight loss, nutrition, and exercise… signing up for a half marathon became my main one.
I knew I would have to work really hard to get in shape to even run a half marathon (13.1 miles) and in turn that would lead to weight loss and better choices.
I had several friends at church that had already signed up to run the Country Music Marathon in Nashville. So, I convinced my sister Courtney to sign up with me and join the group. Courtney had run a half marathon in Myrtle Beach last Fall.
Here we are the day before race day, checking in with the other 35,000 racers.
