So last weekend I held two pageants as fundraisers in South Carolina. I could not have done this with out the help of my sister Courtney, and my two dear friends… Jeanna Beasley and Janet Galyen!!!
With both pageants we raised $2500. Which was great! However, I will say with all the interest we had in the pageant I really thought we might raise more.
Well all last week my quiet times were pumping me up and I just knew God was going to do this huge thing and provide my family with tons of money through the pageants for the adoption.
Saturday morning my little devotional asked a question at the end… “Are you willing to wait on my blessing?”
I didn’t like reading that, because I am not good at waiting and I had my hopes on God providing tons of money through the pageants.
Please hear me say… $2500 is a lot, but if almost everyone that asked for info about the pageant would have competed… we could have raised around $8000-$10000. I just had my heart set on that.
So after two successful pageants I didn’t quite raise as much as I had hoped, but I still felt great. I mean $2500 is still quite a big chunk! And it is a huge help!
But then God did something even bigger than I could have imagined…
While I was home several of my family members handed me checks for the adoption. One check was for $1000, 5 more for $100. I was stunned. I had not even thought about God providing through my family.
Then I come home from SC and taped to my back door is a card from a dear friend at church. I thought it was a sympathy card, because my grandmother had just passed. I opened the card up and there is another… $1000 check.
So over the weekend another $2500 was raised!
So the next time my devotional asks… “Are you willing to wait on my blessing?”
I will answer with an enthusiastic YES!!!
Awesome Kelly! Praying for you guys during this and excited to hear how God will be blessing your during this time. I will especially be mindful of and praying for your little girl when I'm over in India in a few weeks (that kinda freaks me out to type that!). So excited for you, Scott and the boys!
Thanks! I know you guys will have an awesome trip and we will be praying while you are gone! You are going to love it!!! I can't wait to hear your reports via facebook or blog!
That is awesome Kelly! There is a reason He is making you wait. All in His time. What He gives you ends up being so much better than you expected. I'll be praying!
Thanks Michele!
Jesus likes you!!! ALOT!!!!
That is awesome! And such wise words for us all to remember.
