Hand Me Downs

My family loves hand me downs.  All of our kids where them, and we are blessed to have friends that share them with us!
H gave Lyla  two Indian outfits that do not fit anymore…technically the one Lyla is wearing was the one H used to dress her doll.  The one H wore is too big for Lyla right now.  My girl is tiny.  ðŸ™‚  The best part of the Indian suit for little girls is the dupatta (the scarf).  Lyla loved flaunting her new gift around the apartment.
(She is dancing here)
H also gave Lyla the most precious pink high heel shoes. Well, I have already said many times on here how much the girl loves shoes.  Needless to say, she had them on all day.  I was kind of nervous that she would fall, because her mobility is still not where it should be, but she did great!
Today has been a pretty good day.  We got a lot of rain this morning.  It is monsoon season here.  We got out a little bit to run errands and decided to stop to eat lunch while it was pouring so hard and let the rain die down.  We ate at a place called Dinner Bell it was all vegetarian and delicious.  I just can’t get enough of Indian food!
When we left the restaurant, I saw a car under water up to the tops of its tires.  But on the other side of the road it was maybe an inch high of water. You are at your own risk in the water, because it is hard to tell the levels of the streets here.  We decided not to take the chance and just head home.
Lyla and I played Lego’s for a while to pass the time.  I like to watch her play and learn.
We did not do much the rest of the day… it was one of those days that it was nice to stay inside and hear the rain.  It was also nice and cool outside.  Most of the time here, the temperature is hot and muggy.  I stay in a constant sweat.  If you have ever seen the movie, “A Time to Kill”, with Matthew McConaughey, Sandra Bullock, and Ashley Judd,  you will notice they always look wet… that is me here in India.  ðŸ™‚  I think I have only taken one warm shower since being in Ahmedabad, because it has been so warm outside… a colder one has been welcome.
The passport did not arrive today.  I did learn that it was issued and in the mail on the way to the orphanage.  I am sure in the next few days it will arrive.  I have decided not to make a plan until I get it, because my plans keep changing.  I don’t know why I have not figured that out yet… this entire adoption process has been that way!  Obviously my plan is not best, but I love and serve the One whose plan is!!!
Just keep praying for us, and for my Lyla as she continues to transition to her new world!  ðŸ™‚
