In God’s Name

As some of you may know, Scott and I came from Taylors First Baptist Church in South Carolina. Tomorrow night, our then pastor and current President of the Southern Baptist Convention, Dr. Frank Page will be featured on a special documentary titled “In God’s Name.”

On Sunday night, from 9-11pm on CBS, the documentary will feature 12 of the most influential spiritual leaders of our day.  This documentary was put together by Jules and Gedeon Naudet.  You might remember these brother’s from a previous project for which they won an Emmy in 2002… “9/11”.  They just happened to be filming a documentary on fire fighters in New York on the day we will never forget… September 11th.
This new documentary, “In God’s Name”, was inspired from their experience that day.  They strive to answer the question…Where was God that day?  Jules and Gedeon met with all 12 leaders including the Pope, Dalai Lama, and also spent a week at our former church so they could spend some time with Dr. Page and get his views as the President of the Southern Baptist Convention.
With my brief experience of being on television, I pray that the Truth will be revealed and that a week’s worth of filming Dr. Page being edited down to a  2 hour documentary will not demean or twist the powerful words that he has said about the most wonderful Christmas present in the world…Jesus Christ.
