So, my sweet husband and I are in a debate…Did Seth really take his first step on Wednesday?
We were all upstairs playing together, and I started to go downstairs to do something. Scott had been trying really hard to get Seth to walk toward something most of the afternoon. All of a sudden Scott yells, “Honey look.” I turn around to see my little boy stepping/lunging forward onto his toy chest to catch himself from falling.
Scott declares that it was Seth’s first step, and I say how I am not sure about that. Then Scott goes on to say, that the only reason I am not counting it is because I wasn’t right there.
Now technically he did lift one foot up and go forward, but to me because he immediately fell forward after placing his foot down it just doesn’t seem like a legitimate step to me.
I explained my side using the best “Man Analogy” I could think of…Football!
When the quarterback throws the ball to a receiver and the play has to be reviewed over and over…with the question…did the receiver really have control of the ball, before he went down to the ground?
So, I ask the question…”Did Seth really have control when he took that step?”
What do you think???
Too bad, we don’t have instant replay!
