Lynchburg, TN

Only 30 minutes away from our home, is a town called Lynchburg, TN. It is a tiny town that has become a large tourist attraction. They have Motlow State Community College there, and a very cute and quaint downtown square.
But two of their largest attractions is Mary Bobo’s and the Jack Daniel’s Distillery. Mary Bobo’s is an old mansion/house that has been turned into a family style restaurant. Mary Bobo and her family were some of the founders in making Lynchburg the town that it is today.
The food was awesome…it was kind of like getting together with your family for Christmas dinner…it was that good and that much food! It is very hard to get in, because people from all over travel to eat there. We got very lucky, because they happened to have a cancellation that allowed us to get in that day.
There are rooms all over the house set up with one large banqueting table in each room and you will eat with the other guests that have reserved a slot too. There were over a hundred people there when they rung the dinner bell, but everyone was seated in their respective rooms. We ate with families from Atlanta and Mobile. You also have a hostess from Mary Bobo’s that dines with you, and as you eat she tells you the history of the town, Mary Bobo, the house, and the distillery. It was very neat…Note to self: Being a hostess at Mary Bobo’s would be a cool job!

As you can see we ate until our plates were clean! 🙂

The only Jack Daniel’s Distillery in the world is right here in Lynchburg, TN (a dry county-I thought I would mention that)….about 30 minutes away from us. Several people in our church told us we should come and check out the tour. The grounds of the distillery were very nice and the stories were very interesting (the parts I could hear)

Boys are so happy Mimi is here

On the tour

Scott and Jack

Barrels and Barrels of Jack Daniels stacked to age and sell one day…. I remember them saying there was millions and millions of dollars sitting in there.

The grounds of the distillery were very pretty.
The parts of the tour that I did get to hear sounded very interesting… I didn’t hear everything, because I was busy entertaining little boys. So, if any you come to visit and would like to tour the distillery…I would not mind coming back.
