Manchester Mondays: Recreation

Recreation

The city of Manchester has some incredible recreational facilities. I can’t personally do it any justice… so I am just going to cut and paste from the city’s website.

“The Manchester Parks and Recreation Department contains 85 acres of park land in three major parks, Fred Deadman Park, Dave King Park and Rotary Park along the attractive Little Duck River. These parks contain ball fields, tennis courts, a skate park, our Little Duck River Greenway, picnic pavilions, Ada Wright Community Center, horseshoes, and playgrounds.

We also have a 69,000 sq. ft. indoor recreation complex containing two indoor pools, an outdoor leisure pool, racquetball courts, wellness room, spin room, gymnastics, aerobics, gymnasium, walking track, and casual care nursery.”

The boys and I have frequented the play grounds and the complex a good bit. I blogged about one of playground adventures here.

Here is a picture of the indoor pool. The boys and I usually swim in it once a week. It is especially nice, because the kiddy area is heated!

Here is the outdoor pool. We have not gotten to enjoy this pool yet, since we moved towards the end of summer and it closed until the end of spring. But our church hosts an outreach for the kids in the community here every year. We are looking forward to the water slides and all the spray fountains when we have warm weather again!

This is the complex. I am really enjoying taking the Zumba classes. It is a great work out and fun at the same time! Plus, there is free child care for the boys. We have a church member that teaches some other classes at the center and I hope to make it to some of her classes real soon!
Did I mention the price to join the center is extremely affordable???
We are really enjoying our new town!
