Manchester Mondays: Shopping

Shopping

Let’s go ahead and talk about some important stuff… Shopping. 🙂
Our little town of Manchester really doesn’t have much to offer when it comes to shopping for clothes. There is a big Super Wal Mart that has some stuff, but that’s about it. In Coffee County, the city of Tullahoma has JC Penny’s and a few other small shops, and it is very close to Manchester.
However, when we first moved here everyone told me that if I really wanted to shop I would have to head to the city of Murfreesboro. This city is fairly large and it is also a college town. There are a ton of restaurants and shops there. In fact, Scott and I have been on a date to eat our favorite meal in Murfreesboro… Japanese. Murfreesboro is about 30 minutes away from Manchester, so it is really not that bad of a drive… and it helps that the drive is beautiful through the hills of Tennessee. I am actually used to driving about 30 minutes to get to good shopping anyways. Where we lived in NC, it always took us 30 minutes or more to get to the mall.
People have also told me that another great place to shop is Nashville, but it is an hour away. I have not tried that out yet, because Murfreesboro has more than I could ever need when it comes to shopping.
It has one of my most favorite stores ever… Charming Charlie!

I first learned about this store, while visiting Mimi in Mississippi last summer. To my excitement, I learned there was one near our new home. This store has the cutest accessories and clothes and they are decently priced! I love the lay out of the store too, because they do it by color. So if you were looking for something blue, you go to that section… something green, you go to that section, and so forth.
By no means, is Charming Charlie the only cool store in Murfreesboro, there are a bunch more. Another one of my favorites is Hobby Lobby for crafts and Old Time Pottery for housewares. Some of my standards… Old Navy, Bed Bath and Beyond, Lifeway, Michaels, Target…. and the list goes on and on.
Typing this blog…I have talked myself into Japanese for dinner and a little shopping!
I’m headed to Murfreesboro!
