No more cardboard please!

After posting previously about my precious son’s first and pleasant experience with rice cereal, I feel I need to inform everyone on the progress we have made.

After that first night I thought to myself…this is going to be so easy. WRONG! Starting the next morning, Seth would scream and cry anytime I tried to feed him cereal. Because he was fussing so much, I decided to taste it to make sure nothing was wrong with the temperature; etc.

No wonder he didn’t like it, because it reminded me of soggy cardboard! But I don’t give up or give in easily, so I continued to try to feed Seth cereal. The fussing only got progressively worse.

It was also then that I realized my son may look like Scott but he acts like me! He is stubborn and strong willed with a little temper. Scott was laughing at me, because I would say to Seth…”I will stay here all day with you until you eat this cereal.” (Me being stubborn) and Seth would stay there all day with me not eating the cereal. After a few days of this battle….He won.

So we got to our Dr’s appointment on Friday and the Dr. said we could try oat cereal. Well Seth didn’t like it either…basically a repeat of the screaming and crying all over again. I mentioned in a previous post that my Dr. goes to my church…so Sunday I found him and said oat isn’t working either. He then gave me the go ahead to try stage 1 baby foods.

I am pleased to announce that Sweet Potatoes passed the Seth Taste Test!

Please enjoy a little video we took. (The following disclaimer is for my family that keeps asking me why I have not posted any video…) Our computer is older and we are not able to download video into it very well from our video camera. However, I realized I could download video from my digital camera pretty easily….so here is some video for you! Hopefully soon, we can save up enough for a new computer and I can post videos like my cool techno cousin Shannon- Global Sandlappers.
