One last visit…

Scott and I were down in the hospital room, when a nurse came in and said, “they need you on the 4th floor, the case is about to happen.”
Not really sure what that meant, so we went upstairs, were told to out the shared scrubs on again…like I said before, anything for you babies!  We we ushered to the same room with the six beds by security.  I could see her through a window in the arms of a nurse.  When she saw us she reached for us.  Other nurses were asking for her and she did not want to leave our arms.
This may seem selfish, but I was comforted by the fact that I was the only one that could comfort her.  Then Dr. Suman walked in with the anesthesiologist.  He reached for her, and she went to him.  She loves Dr. Suman!  It was also a comfort for me to see a familiar face.
He told us the procedure should take about an hour and then she would be in the PICU for recovery for a while.  We told Dr. Suman we would be praying for him, and he said, “Of course”, with his sweet smile and his Indian head bob.  If you don’t know what the Indian head bob is…you need to look it up.  They say yes while tilting their head side to side instead of front to back.  It takes a few days to get used to, but now I find myself doing it too!
We hugged and kissed Lyla one more time, and she and Dr. Suman walked out the other side of the room.  She looked back and I blew her a kiss.
We went to get breakfast, and are getting ready to head back to the hospital to see if she is out of the procedure yet.
We are also going to meet up with a friend soon from the states.  She and her husband work here.  Looking forward to meeting Lisa and seeing a friendly face.
