Spring in DC 4

The National Zoo

Look closely at the pictures above?  Did you see any animals?
No??? Well, we didn’t either.  I hope some of you have gone to the National Zoo and had wonderful experiences, but we did not.
On their website they advertise over 400 species of animals and they really built up their Giant Pandas.  It would have been great if we could seen these any of these animals.

We did see a zebra, pictured to Scott’s left

And a cheetah to Scott’s right.
We also saw some otters, one elephant, one gorilla, one hippo, and a sloth bear.  We just didn’t get pictures.
I hope I don’t sound too upset about the zoo…I was just disappointed that we walked and walked everywhere and really didn’t see anything.  The National Zoo doesn’t have anything on the Greenville Zoo or the San Antonio Zoo that we went to last summer.
Thankfully the entrance to the zoo is free, but you have to pay to park…$15.00. (which is basically an entrance fee).   And the zoo itself is huge.  I could see how they could have over 400 species…I just didn’t see any.  We would walk from one section to another and hardly any animals were out.  We even walked back to some sections an hour later hoping the animals would be out…nope.
One thing, I have seen at other zoos that I would have liked to have seen here is signs saying why the animals aren’t out…  Like “Panda is eating, back out at 3pm”, or “monkeys not feeling well today.”  Just something that would explain why so many cages were empty.
Ok…I’m over it.
