The Move

Last time the Parkison Family moved, Seth was about 5 weeks old. It was a little difficult with an infant for sure, and not to mention I had some complications after my delivery.
This time we moved with a 3 year old and a 1 1/2 year old…. And, it wasn’t as hard as I thought it was going to be. We had our moments, but I guess we had packed a little each day over a three months period that it made things a little more simple. Not to mention, Grammy… she kept the boys while we did the serious packing with the moving truck.
Several people have asked me how the boys have transitioned during the move. I think they are young enough that it didn’t really affect them too much.
When we first moved, Seth asked several questions about seeing his old friends and his house in North Carolina. It tugged at my heart a little, but he soon got excited about meeting new friends and his new house and church. He does still ask me about particular people every now and then. He also spent an entire day in his new room when we first moved. I think that had more to do with our summer than our move. We were gone soooo much that I think he just wanted to be in one place for good while.
Levi has just been more clingy than normal, which I think is pretty normal. He is just adjusting to his new surroundings. And, we also moved him into a big boy bed in this move. He has handled it pretty well. He gets out of bed every now and then, but when we tell him to get back to bed…. he goes and stays there.
So for the most part, I would say they have transitioned beautifully! It also helps that they get tons of lovin‘ from the church! They are “church babies” for sure!
Here are some pics during the move…

The boys were more interested in playing in the boxes than packing!

All this hard work called for icey pop breaks!
