Single Moms

I had the privilege yesterday to sit in on my church’s Single Mom’s Bible Study Class. These mom’s were awesome and it was so touching to listen to them pour their hearts out to God about their children. Also, I heard a wonderful testimony from a church and family friend, that happens to be happily married with two grown children, but volunteers with the class.

I was so moved by her testimony. I won’t go into all the details of it, but God did some incredible things in her life. One statement she made truly struck me and I haven’t been able to get it out of my head since.

In her past she was abused, had parents that were alcoholics, and even witnessed her father murdering her mother. That’s some harsh stuff for a child, but check this out…

She said, “Statistics say since I was abused, that I will become an abuser. Statistics say since I come from an alcoholic family, I will be an alcoholic. But I stand here to say…God is bigger than a statistic.

It just sent chills running through my body. I was so pumped up about the power of God and His faithfulness in our lives.

I know all of us had been through difficult times in our lives, but God is bigger than anything we could ever go through!
