I lived in Washington, DC a few years ago, and one of my roommates…Jeannie Hall, she could just flat out cook and bake. I was still in the learning process at the time. 🙂
Anyways, I came home from church one afternoon and Jeannie said she had some left overs in the fridge. Of course I couldn’t resist. It was a roast with some vegetables.
When I pulled it out and heated it up- this is no exaggeration- it was truly the best Roast I had ever tasted in my life. She explained to me that it was the marinade that made it so delicious. I immediately had her sit down and write the recipe…this was one I was never going to lose.
Hopefully, all of you can enjoy it too!
California Marinade:
1 cup vegetable oil
3/4 cup soy sauce
1/2 cup lemon juice
1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
2 garlic cloves or minced garlic
1/4 cup prepared mustard
1 tbsp salt and pepper
45 minutes per pound of roast at 350 degrees
On a side note…sometimes I cook it in the crock pot, and the meat just falls apart. Yummy!
I am getting hungry typing this!
